Job Summary
The Resort Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the resort/camp, ensuring smooth coordination across departments, high standards of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and achievement of financial targets. The role will lead department heads, manage resources, oversee staff performance, and ensure the property operates in line with company standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations across all resort/camp departments and address operational challenges promptly.
Lead and coordinate department heads to ensure smooth and efficient property operations.
Plan and supervise pre-season setup, tent preparation, inventories, duty rosters, uniforms, and supplier arrangements.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, cost control, and profitability to achieve revenue and GOP targets.
Monitor and control operating expenses while maximizing revenue and overall profitability.
Oversee capital expenditure, maintenance requirements, and purchasing activities.
Develop and implement regional marketing initiatives, promotions, and sales strategies to achieve business targets.
Monitor market trends, competition, customer requirements, and opportunities for business growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, clients, suppliers, business partners, and other stakeholders.
Handle guest complaints and ensure effective service recovery.
Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, food preparation, and service standards.
Ensure accurate and timely financial and departmental reporting.
Review and approve departmental purchase requests and monitor procurement activities.
Lead staff development, training, communication, motivation, discipline, and employee engagement.
Approve and monitor departmental duty rosters according to operational requirements.
Conduct regular daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to ensure effective communication across departments.
Mandatory Requirements
Proven experience in resort, hotel, hospitality, or camp operations management.
Strong experience managing multiple departments and supervising department heads.
Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, cost control, and profitability management.
Experience in staff scheduling, workforce management, training, and team development.
Strong understanding of purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory, and resource management.
Experience handling guest relations, complaints, and service recovery.
Ability to manage property operations during high-demand seasons and changing operational requirements.
Strong knowledge of hospitality standards, hygiene, cleanliness, and operational procedures.
Nationality Preferred - Indian / African / Sri Lankan.
