Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Mechanical Inspector to oversee and inspect mechanical installation activities for a large-scale Oceanarium Project. The role is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems, equipment, piping, and associated installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance throughout project execution.
Roles & Responsibilities
Inspect mechanical installation works, including piping systems, pumps, valves, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, and mechanical support structures.
Verify installation activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable international codes and standards.
Conduct routine site inspections and witness installation, alignment, hydrotesting, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
Review engineering drawings, method statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), material approvals, and technical documentation.
Coordinate inspections with contractors, consultants, client representatives, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Monitor mechanical workmanship and identify quality deviations, raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required.
Verify material traceability, equipment installation, bolt torqueing, alignment, and mechanical completion activities.
Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, project quality plans, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
Prepare inspection reports, quality records, punch lists, and daily progress reports.
Support testing, commissioning, mechanical completion, and final project handover activities.
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector in large-scale construction, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Experience in Marine Facilities, Oceanarium Projects, Water Treatment Plants, Utilities, Oil & Gas, or Industrial Projects is preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical installation, piping systems, pumps, rotating equipment, valves, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
Sound understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection methodologies, and international standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
Excellent communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
GCC project experience is preferred.
