Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Telecom Engineer with a strong background in substation telecom asset inspection, quality assurance, maintenance, and commissioning for power utility projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with SDH, OTN-DWDM, and Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) systems, ensuring compliance with utility standards, project specifications, and quality requirements across electrical substations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform inspection, testing, and quality assurance of substation telecom systems and assets.
Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning support for SDH, OTN-DWDM, and Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) networks.
Verify telecom installations comply with project specifications, utility standards, and approved inspection procedures.
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, technical documentation, and quality records.
Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and client representatives to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
Support site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning activities, and system handovers.
Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, quality standards, and client requirements throughout project execution.
Provide technical recommendations to improve system reliability and operational performance.
6 months contract based.
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in substation telecom systems within power utility projects.
Proven experience in inspection, quality assurance, maintenance, or commissioning of:
SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy)
OTN-DWDM (Optical Transport Network – Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing)
Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) infrastructure
Strong knowledge of international and utility standards, inspection procedures, and technical documentation.
Hands-on experience in electrical substations and transmission utility environments.
Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
Candidates with Gulf utility project experience are highly preferred.
Candidates currently based in Saudi Arabia will be given first preference.
