Job Summary

The Assistant Chef (Demi Chef de Partie) will support the Chef and kitchen team in preparing and presenting high-quality food while maintaining hygiene, food safety, and kitchen standards. The role involves assisting with daily kitchen operations, food preparation, cooking, and maintaining an organized and efficient workstation in a remote resort environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef in daily kitchen operations and food production.

• Prepare, portion, and cook food items according to recipes and established standards.

• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, presentation, and portion control.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned workstation and kitchen areas.

• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.

• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation.

• Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and proper handling of food products.

• Support smooth and timely food preparation during busy service periods.

• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure efficient service.

• Minimize food wastage and follow proper storage procedures.

• Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and report any defects or maintenance requirements.

• Follow instructions from senior chefs and contribute to a positive team environment.

• Adapt to the operational requirements of a seasonal and remote desert resort.

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a similar position.

• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or professional kitchen environment.

• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, portion control, and kitchen hygiene.

• Good English communication skills.

• Must be above 21 years of age.

• Willingness to work in a remote resort environment and adapt to seasonal operations.

• Updated CV and previous employer experience certificate required.

• PCC is mandatory and must be obtained/verified before the interview.

• Valid passport with minimum 7 months validity at the time of visa processing.
